La Porte Municipal Airport is a city-owned public-use airport located three miles (5 km) northwest of the central business district of La Porte, a city in Harris County, Texas, United States. Facilities and aircraft La Porte Municipal Airport covers an area of which contains two asphalt paved runways: 12/30 measuring 4,165 x 75 ft (1,269 x 23 m) and 5/23 measuring 2,998 x 75 ft (914 x 23 m). For the 12-month period ending April 5, 2023, the airport had 29,050 general aviation aircraft operations, an average of 80 per day. At that time there were 40 aircraft based at the airport: 36 single-engine, and 4 multi-engine. Leo Laporte (; born November 29, 1956) is the former host of ''The Tech Guy'' weekly radio show and founder of TWiT.tv, an Internet podcast network focusing on technology. He is also a former TechTV technology host (1998–2008) and a technology author. On November 19, 2022, actor, writer, musician, and comedian Steve Martin called into Laporte's radio show to announce Leo's retirement from ''The Tech Guy'' radio show. Laporte's last new radio show was December 18, 2022 with reruns for the remainder of the year. Frank LaPorte (October 7, 1901 – October 30, 1972) was an Italian–American racketeer in the Chicago Outfit. He was the Chicago Heights ''caporegime'' during the early 20th century. His closest associates in bootlegging included Ross Prio, Louis Campagna and onetime Outfit boss, Al Capone. Frank Breyfogle Laporte (February 6, 1880 – September 25, 1939) was an American baseball player. Biography Born in Uhrichsville, Ohio, he began his major league career with the New York Highlanders (present day New York Yankees) in 1905. He was eventually traded to the St. Louis Browns, where he had his best years. In he batted a career-high .314. In LaPorte went to the Indianapolis Hoosiers of the Federal League. He led the league with 107 RBIs in 1914 while batting .311 for the first-place Indianapolis Hoosiers in 1914. His last game was on 10/03/1915. After his season, he retired. Bernard Laporte (born 1 July 1964) is a rugby player, coach and former French Secretary of State for Sport. From 1999 to 2007, Laporte was the head coach of the France national team.
